The products we sell are FRESH, not frozen, they don't contain any artificial additives or preservatives and they often have a limited shelf life. We are not like supermarkets where products are ordered in bulk then sit on the shelves until you buy them. Your foods are ordered fresh from our network of small suppliers and hand picked and packed to your exact requirements.

We work only with people who make, farm or catch the highest quality produce in small quantities; be they fishermen, farmers, butchers, bakers, cheesemakers, gamekeepers or smokehouses. These small independent businesses are spread right across Scotland from Shetland to Northern England. So, we don't keep stock on shelves - we simply buy from our suppliers on a weekly basis the products that you have ordered for delivery. In this way you are guaranteed the highest quality and absolute freshness.

We close orders on Monday lunchtime for weekly delivery (Fresh Fish is Wednesday). That means the ingredients for your food can be ordered and cooked, your meat butchered, or your fish chosen from the best in catch and delivered to us fresh, here in Kelso. We then collate your order together, package with ice cool gel and ship to you on Thursday for delivery on a Friday.

Packaging

We focus on the quality of produce rather than fancy packaging, so your order will arrive in a recyclable white board box containing non-toxic frozen gel. This gel acts as a mini-refigerator and keeps your foods cool in transit for up to 48 hours. If you have special delivery requirements (i.e. you would like your parcel left in the garden shed, or with a neighbour) just let us know.

Substitutions

At Caledonian Connoisseur we work with small, specialist, artisan food producers and many of the products we offer are only available in limited supply. So please place your order early to ensure you're not disappointed. If for some reason your chosen product is not available, we will contact you to advise and offer you an alternative product.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations can only be accepted before 11am on the Monday prior to despatch. Please contact us on 01573 227 310. Non-delivered orders can be replaced or refunded upon written proof of non-delivery from the courier.
